about

This track speaks for no-one else and in no-one else's voice. It's the way we feel about things our government is doing in our name.

lyrics

RAZOR WIRE

A cage is not meant for a person
yeah it’s not meant to be at all
pouring rain
the tents
the dirt floor
this time comes now
it’s been before

when jet planes bomb
and war lords torture
people run and we’d run too
island hell no point pretending
some try to hide from what they do

from building up fences
and spreading them round
that separate people
that lower us down
a breach in the wall
so we’re building it higher
some talk of control
but they’re playing with fire
and you can’t make this mad world sane
with razor wire

a child’s drawing shows a sad face
a strong man ends and starts to fall
a mother runs and grabs her baby
a teacher talks and loses all

fences can fall we can let the hurt end
we’re not there yet but we could be again
I turn on my phone
but I’m hearing a liar
some talk of control but they’re playing with fire
it’s not leading when you rule
with walls and wire
yeah we’re playing with fire
