ianwoff Great stuff, and I love "Dreams Make Sense" in particular. I think the boys have advanced to another level of songwriting! Favorite track: razor wire.

old to new 03:52
Old To New It’s a strange strange world we live in whispered cries an unheard call as the white land turns to green will we say farewell to it all it’s a strange strange life we’re leading as the waves wash through the street as a wake fans out from every car then it’s burning concrete baking heat It’s a strange strange life we’re leading something changing in the mall as the cooling air dies exits jam say farewell to it all crowded shops now growing silent queuing over changing times empty words that glowed above our heads household names on unread signs wake me up now let’s start again let’s change the story hold the end There’s a growing dark blue ocean and it’s gathering new light let me pause and end rewind again turn blue green back to white it’s a strange strange life we’re leading move away from what we knew when the time to change is closing now lest the story end just passing through wake me up now let’s start again let’s change the story hold the end wake me up now let’s start again let’s change the future lest it end ©: Copyright: J Fraser, R Cole all rights reserved

easy to say 03:00
Easy to Say The more I’m thinking about you you’re slipping out of view I know some words that you want to hear make ‘em easy to say so hang around while I say ‘em I’ve heard too many bad things and you know I’ve said some too but I’m gonna let that be I’m gonna listen for what I want to hear but it’s coming from a distance your love from a distance I can’t stand this distance The more I’m thinking about you you’re slipping out of view I know some words that you want to hear make ‘em easy to say so hang around while I say ‘em but it’s coming from a distance your love from a distance I can’t stand this distance I’ll bridge this distance here I come ©: Copyright R Cole, J Fraser all rights reserved

razor wire 03:55
RAZOR WIRE A cage is not meant for a person yeah it’s not meant to be at all pouring rain the tents the dirt floor this time comes now it’s been before when jet planes bomb and war lords torture people run and we’d run too island hell no point pretending some try to hide from what they do from building up fences and spreading them round that separate people that lower us down a breach in the wall so we’re building it higher some talk of control but they’re playing with fire and you can’t make this mad world sane with razor wire a child’s drawing shows a sad face a strong man ends and starts to fall a mother runs and grabs her baby a teacher talks and loses all fences can fall we can let the hurt end we’re not there yet but we could be again I turn on my phone but I’m hearing a liar some talk of control but they’re playing with fire it’s not leading when you rule with walls and wire yeah we’re playing with fire ©: Copyright J Fraser, R Cole all rights reserved

Dreams Make Sense You put all your love into your dreams now it hurts you to be alone in your private world there’s a cold wind blowing through your heart as you lose your grip on the one you love fearing you are bound to lose what you cannot live without you trade your dreams to get your way you see them broken and swept away to keep yourself arms length from you you drink too much to confuse you do not want to see what’s true you do not want to feel the blues all you want comes in time with the feeling in your heart dreams make sense of the world everyone is bound to change with brush and canvas at your hand such beauty came at your command simple things you made them sing so much to give so much to bring fearing you are bound to lose what you cannot live without you trade your dreams to get your way you see them broken and swept away all you want comes in time with the feeling in your heart dreams make sense of the world everyone is bound to change ©: Copyright R Cole, J Fraser all rights reserved

WORDS FALL SHORT Hermit hardness building deep inside me but something in me changes when you’re there and I could call it magic I’m happy and I’m scared no way I won’t feel this way years spent angry years spent empty so many lines I’ve held or tried to hold walls are slowly falling trusting taking hold there’s no way I won’t feel this way things I didn’t notice drive you crazy words and thoughts they form they’re gone again your smile just makes my heart sing I need you more and more no way I won’t feel this way Just be you and do what you will there’s so much to say it stays in my head still when words fall short that’s what songs are for I just need you now love you more and more without end ©: Copyright J Fraser all rights reserved

about

This one was recorded between lockdowns and with no gigs we went a bit further in the studio. Lyrically it's a mix of political, environmental, personal and love songs. Musically it adds a bit more folk rock to the folk combining rock and roll ballads with ballads

about

Keynes Brothers Melbourne, Australia

We're an Australian acoustic duo drawing inspiration from folk and folk rock with some blues thrown in.

Our lyrics centre on modern life covering topics from social commentary to love and humour. Sometimes they're semi autobiographical and sometimes they're about events outside our lives or about nothing much at all except what you see.
