about

This song is about the alienation that can come from technology.
When it's good, it's great. But used badly, it can come between people.

The song idea started when one of us was jostled on the train by a group who never looked up from their phones. We use phones too. We just try not to knock people over.

lyrics

Faces Reflected

Car lights flashing
passing sad streets empty and cold
like packets moving
coldness blinking passing them on
images shift
tiny phrases killing you dead
cruelty packaged
in things you’ve heard
and things you’ve said

people weaving
eyes not seeing thoughts unaware
they’re seeking searching
worlds uncaring
not really there
don’t send to me
just talk to me

talk to me
or just leave me alone
we’re standing in a crowd
we’re not in your phone

the jokes are fun
while you still laugh
but then they’re gone
they don’t last long
you need outside to find your dreams
not in that screen
not some machine
